NaNo 2018 Thanksgiving Weekend (Days 21-25)

Otherwise known as that time where I kept writing on breaks but completely slacked off on updating the word count.

We are in the home stretch; Turkey Day has come and gone and the end of this year’s National Novel Writing Month is nearly upon us. It’s been a struggle to keep up the word count this time around–not really sure why but it happens–but there is still time to finish.

On the content front I have uploaded the first chapter of The Phoenix, a fic(let?) in which the team, following the events of Infantano Street and the yet-to-be-completed Catalyst fic, travel to Nanda Parbat in the 1400’s to the last known sighting of the, well, of the Phoenix, a figure who had long since disappeared from the League of Assassin’s history and historical records. The team’s goal is to learn the Phoenix’s identity and connection to the Elixir of the Phoenix and discover what Vandal Savage wants with both.
Though of course, if you’ve read chapter 4 of my What If fanfic, you already know more than the team does. 😉

I have uploaded the first chapter, which ends with their decision to visit Nanda Parbat… but I have written out two more, leading to them discovering the Phoenix’s identity and being more confused than ever.

And in terms of word count… well, I haven’t fallen behind, but that’s about it. There’s still a slew of notes to be edited out, but this close to the end of the month, I just don’t see that happening. I mean, I know NaNo is all about the pre-editing stage (or rather, you can choose for it to be), but just once I’d like to finish with a work that’s all story and no notes, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never done that in the last nine years I’ve participated. Oh, well, maybe next time.

Daily goal: 1667
Day’s count (day 25 taking the total for all): 6750
Total goal: 41667
Total count: 42607
Report card reports: At this rate, you will finish on Nov 30.

Fellow NaNoers, how goes the word count?
