The Graft (Prologue)

The prologue to my work-in-progress, a fantasy pirate novel titled The Graft.

Voalt was born among pirates and learned many dirty tricks just to survive.
He was captured and raised as a slave by a mage interested in experimenting upon him.
He was bound to a shapeshifting demon that sought only to drink the blood of its enemies.

When his friends and family are threatened, he must call upon everything he has learned from his past to become the greatest hero the world has ever forgotten.

The prologue details the events that lead to Voalt’s presence among that pirate crew.
